This term, Stage 2 students will be participating in two incursions to support our Science unit of work on Earth and Space.
In Week 5 each class will participate in an incursion inside the Skyworks Planetarium which will be located on site at the school. Students will be able to view the night sky, learn about the many star formations and gain an understanding of the movements of the planets.
The second incursion, in Week 7, will be a guest speaker from Gibberagong Environmental Education Centre who will help explore the Science topic from an Aboriginal perspective. Students will be looking at some of the local engravings and how they relate to the seasonal calendar. They will also discuss seasonal markers for food collection and Dreaming stories that relate to astronomy.
